Wie mijn handel en wandel het afgelopen jaar een beetje gevolgd heeft, weet dat ik een bewonderaar ben van het werk van Michael Stephens. Voor het signaleren van technology trends in het bibliotheekwerk, is hij al van onschatbare waarde gebleken en als TTW is Michael een inspirator voor veel collegabloggers.
Wij ontmoetten elkaar in 2004 min of meer toevallig via Tametheweb. Ons gezamenlijk optreden tijdens Internet Librarian International 2005, was een van de hoogtepunten van dat jaar (lees ook de eerdere berichten hierover op deze plek).
Maar na 15 jaar gewerkt te hebben als 'gewone' bibliothecaris bij de St. Joseph County Public Library, verruilt Michael zijn baan om als instructor te gaan werken bij de Graduate School of Library and Information Science aan de Dominican University in Illinois. Een prachtige, welverdiende overstap en een mooi voorbeeld van hoe bloggen goed kan zijn voor je carriere! (ik voorzie in de nabije toekomst ook in Nederland een paar mensen die van baan gaan veranderen ;-)

He who a beetje has last year followed my trade and wandel, weet which I am a bewonderaar of the work of Michael Stephens. For the identification of technology recent developments in the library work, he has already proven to be of priceless value and as TTW Michael a inspirator for many collegabloggers is. We met each other in 2004 more or less occasional by means of Tametheweb. Our common action during Internet Librarian international 2005, was of the peaks of that year (read also the earlier bulletins about this on this spot).
But after 15 years to have worked as ' ordinary ' librarian at Saint Joseph County Public Library, Michael change its job as instructor to will work at the Graduate school or Library and Information Science to the Dominican University in Illinois. A splendid, welverdiende overstap and a beautiful example of how bloggen can be well for your carriere! (I also provide people whom of job will change in the close future in the Netherlands a couple; -)
